Giants in the City is a public art project. It is an itinerant exhibition of sculptures at monumental scale produced with the technique we know as inflatable sculptures. This event proposes the production of a sculpture designed by each guest artist that, in turn, represents his own work.

Giants in the City renounces to the traditional form and significance of the urban monument and the permanent public work, to offer a renewed expression of art that deeply transforms the production and reception site of the work of art; it does not involve itself with the imposition of a symbolical —characteristic meaning of the monument—, but with a more parallel idea of equality and dialogue between the work and the spectator.

It recently had the possibility of appearing in Aruba, contributing to the cultural development of that country. Thanks to the effort and proposal of institutions and, of course, of the curatorial work, the development and exhibition were a complete success. The community of Aruba enjoyed it to the utmost, all the more when for the first time they could witness an exercise of this nature and format. The public gathered daily at the exhibition’s venue, which became a meeting point for intellectuals and artists, youngsters and adults from the city, and of course, for the passer-by who never planned to find a group exhibition of art.
